Bike Long Beach

As one of the four city-delineated ‘Bike Friendly Business Districts’ in Long Beach, 4th Street is upping the ante to offer bikers a pleasant experience on our street with the addition of lots of bike racks along the street and in the “Edsel Lot” on the corner of Cherry & 4th Streets.

BFBD DECAL_smlAlong with the City of Long Beach, we’ve partnered to create “Bike Saturdays”! Get discounts just by riding your bike and patronizing local shops and eateries in Bixby Knolls, the East Village, and Retro Row. Look for this LOGO for participating merchants. More info HERE!

We’re also the proud owners of three new bikes for use by merchants and shoppers—to run errands and deliver products—including a retro bicycle courtesy of Cyclone Coasters bike club, and two cargo bikes with trailers!

We encourage patrons to bike and shop locally as it minimizes traffic and parking issues, is often faster, cheaper, and less of a hassle than driving, increases safety, reduces air pollution, and is healthy and fun! The simple act of getting on a bike has far-reaching effects – not only for our health and environment – but also for our local economy.

Stay tuned here for more information about merchant discounts for bikers, local bike maps, bike-friendly events, and more!
