“Last Saturdays on 4th” May 2009

Shops On 4th Street (from Junipero to Cherry Aves) Host A FREE Evening Of Art & Entertainment; All events start at 6pm unless otherwise indicated!

“Last Saturdays” highlights include:

4th Street Vine Wine Bar (2142 E. 4th; 562-343-5463): Artist Reception: John Kurien (www.johnkurien.com); 4-6pm.

Artistic Edge (2105 E. 4th; 562-433-5169): Art Opening: “I See”: Recent Works By Artist Jeff Schlicht”; 5-8pm. (Show runs May 15-July18).

• Elan Collection (408 Saint Louis Ave. off 4th; 562-434-1895): Complimentary food and adult beverages at this eclectic boutique!

• New Shop! Jade Maiden (402 Saint Louis Ave.): Grand opening! Featuring art & accents from South-East Asia for the garden & home including hand-carved stone Buddahs, Balinese statues/fountains, recycled teak carvings and architectural furniture/accessories, and Indonesian artifacts.

Meow Vintage (2210 E. 4th; 562-438-8990): RADCo. Jewelry ‘Trunk Show’: An evening of complimentary champagne, cupcakes, and select accessories from RADCo. artist & creator, Jennifer Martin (www.radness.etsy.com).

{Open} (2226 E. 4th; 52-499-6736): Art Opening: “Hand-To-Hand: The Coast-to-Coast Collage Collaboration of Rebecca Trawick and David Wallace”. During a two-year collaboration, Trawick (who lives in So-Cal) and Wallace (from Pittsburgh, PA) traded pieces back and forth via the US Post Office, adding to each work as it changed hands. On exhibit are 25 of the works, some of which document each step of the collaborative process. (Show runs May 30-July 19)

Scuda (2001 4th; 562-439-0101): One of the newest shops on Retro Row (featuring vintage clothing and furnishings, jewelry and more), showcases local art & music.
