We’re trippin’ down memory lane, thanks to a new video from the 4th Street summer bike fest, courtesy of The Pike! 4th Street In Motion – Pike Productions

It was a gorgeous day and the street was packed with folks (and doggies) from near and far (San Diego and Palm Springs were a few of the out-o-towner origins).  Judging from the amount of brimming goodie bags we saw being lugged down the street, it was a successful day for shoppers and merchants alike!

Join us for a FREE multi-media Breakwater exhibit at the local Shelter Surf Shop. This night will provide a social forum for breakwater advocates, many of whom will be honored for their work improving the region’s water quality. This event will kick off the month of May’s events recognizing Breakwater Awareness Month.

The event, titled “Big Thursday”, is part of Councilmember Patrick O’Donnell’s Breakwater Awareness Month (BAM). “Big Thursday” will feature an historical photo exhibit, screenings of two surfing and Breakwater documentaries (”Accidental Icon: The Real Gidget Story” directed by Brian Gillogly and “Mother Wants Her Beauty Back” directed by Grant Eads) and a “Hang Ten” awards presentation honoring local activists.

Our first ‘lil’ fest was a resounding success! Thanks to everyone who participated to make it a damn good day!

Everything Old is New again! The Assistance League of Long Beach’s Thrift & Vintage Shop will hold its once-a-year ‘Heritage’ event—a collector’s dream shopping event! Showcasing vintage and collectible items, the sale will feature fine porcelain, jewelry, clothing, art, books, linens and more! ALLB is open 6 days a week; Monday 10-4 and Tuesday-Saturday 10-6.

Plus, we’ll have a host of circus performers and live music on-hand to entertain while you’re picking up on all the great deals to be had.

4^th Street has a lot to offer including furnishings (vintage to contemporary), toys and togs for kids of all ages, vintage threads and accessories, surf gear, gifts and one-of-a-kind tchotsky’s, original artwork and handcrafted jewelry, and much, much more!

Make a day of it, and grab a bite to eat at any of the eateries along the way.

The Art Theatre of Long Beach and Lil Devils Boutique teamed up in June to host “Love Among The Stars: Prom 1976”.

This ’70s themed shindig got revelers in the mood for the Art Theatre’s showing of the ultimate Prom nightmare: Stephen King’s classic movie, “Carrie”.
